According to their sensitivity to Wickerhamomyces anomalus mycocins, Cyberlindnera spp. may be subdivided into two groups, one comprising heterothallic species with hat-shaped ascospores and another containing homothallic ones with Saturn-shaped ascospores. Type strain of a species, its synonyms and anamorphs have identical reactions to mycocins.
