This fall, schools will welcome teachers who have had a variety of experiences in the prior academic year. Many novice teachers will have had no prior sustained experience in an in-person K–12 classroom as a student teacher or intern. Their experiences may have been fully online or, at best, in a hybrid format. In addition, many experienced teachers will still be figuring out how to adjust to the new teaching modalities that they were unexpectedly faced with over the last 18 months. As a result of the global health pandemic, new challenges have emerged that affect teaching and learning, and novice and experienced teachers alike must face them together. One such challenge is having adequate pedagogical and instructional support to do one’s job effectively in the new learning modalities.
