Optical characterization of PANI/functionalized-MWCNTs/PVA nanocomposites induced by gamma irradiation

PANI/Functionalized CNT/PVA nanocomposites were prepared by gamma irradiation technique, and their optical characterization were investigated. The results obtained showed that the bandgap derived from the UV–Vis study decreased with the increment of irradiation dose. There was a particular interaction between PANI and functionalized CNT upon irradiation indicating an interaction between these two functional materials. The surface morphology showed the thickness of the functionalized tube was greater after irradiation which indicated wrapping of the PANI onto the CNT wall.
