In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and necessary social distancing measures including lockdowns taking place across the globe, the Observational Practices Lab at Parsons School of Design sent out an open call on social media to document the objects that have taken on new meaning in the age of social isolation. Participants from geographically disparate places (from Russia to Brazil to Japan) contributed photographic documentation. These are being collated into the Atlas of Everyday Objects. This visual essay is an excerpt of that Atlas, which is in process at atlasofeverydayobjects.org
