An Analysis of the Dynamic Parameters of Active Power Filters Based on Parallel Voltage Inverters

Abstract

In the paper, the dynamic parameters of active power filters (APFs) based on parallel semiconductor converters and their influence on the quality of compensation of higher harmonics of the load current are considered. The time components that determine the efficiency of the active power filter functioning in the case of abrupt load current changes are shown. The analysis of the influence of the time of generating the compensating action depending on the converter PWM and power circuit parameters is performed. Relations are obtained for calculating the maximum rate of the active power filter current variation for APF converters with L- and LCL-filters. The results obtained are verified by simulation.
