The renewable and sustainable biomass‐derived catalysts are promising to facilitate the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), which is the cornerstone reaction for renewable energy conversion and storage applications. The rational engineering of active sites and porous structure of the biomass‐derived ORR catalysts are reviewed in this paper.
