Development of Readings Correction Techniques for Industrial Hydrostatic Level Meters

Abstract

Measurement errors of hydrostatic level meters during process transients were investigated by the author in the Institute of Control Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 2012–2017; reading correction methods were developed with reference to nuclear power plants (NPP). The application of these methods in nuclear industry has shown their high effectiveness as well as the possibility of their transfer to other industrial sectors, such as thermal power and chemical industries. The paper discusses these new opportunities and describes a simplified procedure of hydrostatic level meter’s readings correction based on implementation results.
