Novel strontium zirconium di-orthophosphate phosphor for super capacitor and dosimetry application

Abstract

Strontium zirconium di-orthophosphate was synthesized by solid state method. The phase purity and its crystal structure was studied through X-ray diffraction pattern. It was observed that powder has triclinic structure. The functional group was identified from the Fourier transform infrared spectrum. The energy band gap was determined from Wood and Tauc plot, derived from Ultraviolet-visible spectrum, confirms that the matrix is an insulator. Capacitance studies indicate possible applications of these phosphates in super-capacitors. Thermoluminescence glow curves were recorded with constant heating rate at 5 °C/s after exposing into gamma radiations of different fluences. The trapping parameters such as kinetic orders, frequency factor and activation energy factors were calculated. These results demonstrate the possible application of Strontium zirconium di-orthophosphate as a dosimeteric material to measure gamma ray exposure.
