From Tomb to Text: The Body of Christ in the Book of John by Christina Petterson

My only substantive critique is that the book’s two parts read like separate publications. More effort could perhaps have been made to integrate the two parts, or to explain more clearly how the historiography of part two builds on the philosophy of part one. This is, however, a very minor objection that should not detract from the genuine contribution that the book makes. It contains many informative discussions, thoughtful observations and thought-provoking insights. Scholars of the historical Jesus, the early church and the NT would do well to pay attention to this publication. Llewellyn Howes, University of Johannesburg llewellynh@uj.ac.za
