Abstract
The tribotechnical characteristics inherent in steel–bronze and steel–cast iron and cast iron–bronze friction pairs separated by engine oil and by engine oil with the addition of a specialized additive have been studied. The introduction of the additive into the engine oil provides a reduced wear level for the samples. The best results concerning the friction coefficient have been obtained for the case of the steel–cast iron and cast iron–bronze friction pairs.
