A critical review of this book by Darren Sarisky. It is very informative about Augustine's hermeneutics, but it also pretends to offer a hermeneutics for current readers. In that respect, it is very problematic because of a number of assumptions that limit the scope to a type of reader that is already firmly believing in the Triune God. Such a hemeneutics is not up to the standard of the current debate, let alone that it can be called 'contextual' in any normal use of that word.

(Darren Sarisky)

Darren Sarisky
