Abstract Introduction We evaluated the psychometric properties of the Transgender Positive Identity Measure (T-PIM). Method A total of 901 transgender and gender diverse (TGD) adults completed the T-PIM and measures of self-appraisal. Result Confirmatory factor analyses supported a five-factor T-PIM structure and confirmed its measurement invariance across race (white/people of color) and gender (binary/nonbinary). Multiple regressions supported the T-PIM’s construct validity in relation to TGD-specific versus generic self-appraisal. MANOVAs revealed that nonbinary people of color are relatively more positive about their identity. Conclusion The T-PIM is a psychometrically sound instrument for measuring and comparing positive properties of TGD identity.
