ABSTRACT This piece presents some stories of resistance by Punjabi Sikh immigrant detained individuals in the United States. In spite of the brutalities of detention, the stories demonstrate how these detained individuals still found ways to support one another and retain some sense of individuality. The stories highlighted here also serve as reminders that while the Detention Industrial Complex may seem like an impregnable force, it is a construct that can be resisted and challenged from within detention, as well as from the outside.
