Formation of Single Polar Domain in α-Cu2V2O7

We revisited the crystal structure of α-Cu2V2O7. An absolute structure determination have been performed. Ten pieces of crystals were randomly selected from a single large crystal. Inclusion of inversion domain was evaluated by estimating the Flack parameter. All the measured crystals have zero Flack parameters within the standard uncertainty. Relative intensity \(I(14\ 2\ 2)/I(14\ 2\ \bar{2})\) on the bulk Bridgman-grown centimeter-sized crystal shows uniform values confirming the single polar domain nature of α-Cu2V2O7.
