Bounds for the Rayleigh velocity in an incompressible orthotropic plate

In this paper, an incompressible orthotropic plate is studied for the bounds of Rayleigh wave speed. A parameter “a” of elastic anisotropy, for all orthotropic materials, is defined. It is found that, for all materials with 4<a<1, we always have an upper bound for the Rayleigh velocity. In addition, for 1<a<0, we have either an upper or a lower bound for speed, cR, of the Rayleigh wave.
