The fast-growing population, great development in the economy and the improvement of urbanization brought about the quick rise in the volume of motor vehicles in the urban areas of India. Therefore, the significance of estimating the travel demand model will be expanded in the ongoing years. Determining the travel demand model includes different phases of excursion age and dissemination, mode choice and activity task. Among these stages, this investigation is a conspicuous stage as it considers the movement mode to achieve their goal. Further, investigation of mode choice criteria has turned into an indispensable region of research as individual and family unit socioeconomics apply a solid effect on movement mode decision choices. There is a colossal writing on head out model choice demonstrating to foresee the scope of trade-offs of transportation of commuters considering travel time and travel cost. In such writing, intercity mode choice behaviour has increased huge consideration from a few researchers. This study is to create mode choice from specific urban communities (Coimbatore, Erode, Salem and Trichy) to Chennai using nested logit model.
