Experimental investigation on slaughter, fish waste and poultry excrete oil as fuel blends in diesel engine

In the present work, the biofuels were prepared from chicken slaughter waste, broiler excrete, and fish waste through the pyrolysis process. The effect of prepared biofuels was identified and evaluated in terms of the emission parameters on a four-stroke, single-cylinder diesel engine test bench. Customized fuels are prepared by blending of oil derived from chicken slaughter waste, broiler excrete, and fish waste at 10% volume with diesel at 90% volume to conduct the experiments. This oil is restricted to 10% volume for blending with diesel owing to its inferior heating value. This work also focuses on reducing the direct environmental pollution by preventing the dumping process of slaughter waste, broiler excrete, and fish waste which causes bad odor and soil pollution. The influence of oil derived from chicken slaughter waste, broiler excrete, and fish waste and diesel blend was compared with conventional diesel. Test results demonstrated that the CO (30.52%), HC (25.41%), and NO (22.84%) emissions of chicken slaughter/broiler excrete/fish waste biofuels and diesel blends reduced extensively than diesel at full load. Further, the CO2 emissions of fish waste and diesel blend are increased by 30.52% at 25% load condition, and at 100% load, it increased by 23.80% than diesel. The attained results shall play a significant role to execute analysis concern to various alternative fuels to lower engine emission patterns.
