T o begin, I want to express my deepest thanks and gratitude to Jeff Jenson for his outstanding leadership and lasting contributions to the Journal of the Society for Social Work and Research ( JSSWR). Alongside a tremendous team of associate and consulting editors, Jeff has worked tirelessly to raise the profile of the journal and strengthen both the quality and volume of submissions while maintaining a commitment to rigor and the rapid turnaround of manuscripts throughout the review process. As Mark Fraser did before him, Jeff has helped JSSWR to become a leading publisher of rigorous social work scholarship. Through Jeff’s efforts, the journal has grown not just in quality and prestige, but also substance and influence. Publications featured in the journal during Jeff’s tenure as editor-inchief engage timely and important questions for our field. Articles such as those appearing in special sections and special issues on the Grand Challenges for Social Work Initiative ( Jenson, Shapiro, & Bender, 2018; Jenson & Uehara, 2017) and public impact scholarship ( Jenson, Sliva, & Greenfield, 2019) are particularly noteworthy in this regard. As I assume the role of editor-in-chief, I consider it an obligation to continue the valuable work of Jeff and Mark. My intention is to follow their lead in helping to expand the pool of authors submitting to the journal; to broaden the journal’s readership; and to continue to press for the highest quality, empirically robust, and substantively meaningful social work research. I am also excited to consider alternatives to traditional article formats—such as commentaries, editorials, and
