Thefactorsthataffectformationanddisseminationofpublicopinionhavebeenstudiedforalong time.However,thefindingsaredisparateandfragmented,giventhecharacteristicsofnetizensandnew mediaintheBigDataera.Tothisend,thisarticleintroduceseightmechanismsworkingonformation anddisseminationofpublicopiniononnetwork.Basedon systemdynamics, this article further proposesacomprehensivecausalrelationshipmodeltoexplorethefactorsaffectingtheconsequence ofpublicopiniononnetwork.Particularly, the roleofgovernment is taken intoconsideration in thismodel.AsimulationwithVensimPLEisconducted.Theresultsofthesimulationindicatethat grouppolarizationamongnetizens,opinionleaders,thequantityofmediaaudience,thefrequency ofmediareport,governmentattention,andwarningmechanismforpublicopinioncrisisaffectthe consequenceofpublicopiniononnetworksignificantly.Implicationsofthefindingsarediscussed.
