Thisstudyaimstounderstandthedriversofcloud-basedservices(CBS)adoptionanditsimpact ontheperformanceofIndianorganizations.Theconceptualmodelwasdevelopedusingdiffusion ofinnovationtheory,technology-organization-environmentframework,transactioncosteconomics, technologyacceptancemodel,andbalancedscorecardmodel.Thisquantitativestudycollecteddata fromITexpertsof334Indianorganizationsusingquestionnairesurveymethod.Dataanalysisusing structuralequationmodellingrevealsthatamongsixidentifieddrivers,credibilityofcloudservice providerhasthestrongestimpactonthedecisiontoadoptCBS,followedbytopmanagementattitude, economicflexibility,perceivedusefulness,andrelativeadvantage.Whileperceivedeaseofuseof theCBSwasfoundstatisticallynotsignificant.Conversely,theimpactofCBSadoptionwasfound strongestonthefinancialperformanceoftheorganizations.Further,CBS’sadoptiondriversandtheir impactonperformancevarysignificantlyonthebasisofageandsizeoftheorganizations.
