The migration literature has become very vast and diverse. Its proliferation has accompanied the growth and transformation of migration movements in size, origins, directions and destinations. Policies regulating admission, integration and return have responded to new types of human mobility, and at the same time, have been challenged by the creation of new opportunities in a globalized world and the aspiration of more people to avail of those opportunities. The social transformation associated with migration has invited new research and investigations. In this milieu, publishing a scholarly journal on migration is a different reality now than it was 25 years ago, when the Asian and Pacific Migration Journal was first published. It is possible to identify some major trends characterizing journal publishing today.
