ABSTRACT

The issue brings together six texts that relate critical discourse studies and different perspectives from the decolonial project. (1) ‘Decolonizing critical discourse studies: for a Latin American perspective’. (2) ‘What’s in a preamble? Decolonial thinking in the preambles of the Bolivian and Ecuadorian constitutions: a discourse analytic approach’. (3) ‘Understanding discriminatory discourse practices from the Global South: (re)scaling power and meaning-making’. (4) ‘‘I can’t use this word feminism because I think it is too strong’: discourse and evaluative language on feminism in narratives of gender produced by Cape Verdean academics’. (5) ‘Political discourse analysis: a decolonial approach’. (6) ‘The critical discourse analysis and the decolonial turn. Why and what for?”.
