Wet chemically synthesized Na3Ca2(SO4)3Cl:RE3+ (RE= Ce, Dy, Eu) phosphors for solid-state lighting

Wet chemical method was employed for the synthesis of novel RE 3+ (RE = Ce, Dy, Eu)-doped Na3Ca2(SO4)3Cl phosphors. Structure and bonding between each element of the sample and morphology of the sample were analyzed using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), which showed that the samples were crystallized in a well-known structure. Photoluminescence study of Na3Ca2(SO4)3Cl:Dy3+ shows emission bands at 484 and 577 nm due to 4F9/26H15/2 and 4F9/26H13/2 transitions, respectively, keeping excitation constant at 351 nm because of 6H15/26P7/2 , whereas emission peak for Na3Ca2(SO4)3Cl:Ce3+ phosphors is observed at 349 nm, monitoring excitation under peak at 267 nm. The emission of Eu in Na3Ca2(SO4)3Cl phosphor is very characteristic and intense. Excitation of Eu is observed due to 7F05L6 and one more excitation which is very weak. Emission line at 594 and 617 nm corresponds to the forced electric dipole 5D07F1 and 5D07F2, respectively.
