In order to study the effect of different SVPWM modulation carrier forms on the performance and loss of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), the finite element analysis model of a PMSM is established, the mathematical model of the PMSM and SVPWM control circuit are built. In the control system, two carrier forms are considered, named triangular wave and sawtooth wave. Based on the field circuit coupling method, the torque and loss at different speeds are compared. The influence of different carrier forms on motor performance is obtained. The result shows that the torque ripple of the triangular carrier motor is less than that of the sawtooth carrier in the SVPWM modulation, and the motor loss is basically the same in the two carrier forms. Finally, a prototype experimental platform is established to verify the correctness of the simulation.
