Optical coherence tomography (OCT) reveals subsurface colorectal tissue abnormality and cancers. Quantitative OCT can identify different types of colorectal tissue from functional scattering coefficient maps. This image illustrates the representative OCT colorectal tissue scattering maps of normal, adenomatous polyp, almost invisible cancer, and visually distinguishable cancer.
