Adaptation of CONV-3D Single-Phase Module for Modeling Turbulent Flow in Reactors in the Les Approximation

The particulars of the adaptation of the CONV-3D module for modeling turbulent flows in reactors in the LES approximation are presented. The results of modeling coolant flow in a round tube with Reynolds number 4·10 3 –5·10 5 in comparison with the Blasius formula are presented. It is shown that the adapted module gives numerical results that coincide with the analytical estimates and DNS calculations but on much coarser grids, so that the calculations can be speeded up several-fold.
