This paper is focused on stability and stabilization of Markov jump systems with generally uncertain transition rates. By in-depth exploiting relationships among the transition rates, a new stability criterion is derived for the systems. The developed criterion is less conservative than some current ones. Moreover, it can be equivalently transformed into solvable condition for state-feedback stabilization while some current ones have to further introduce conservatism when establishing the solvable stabilization conditions. Examples show the validity and advantages of the developed results.
