Background: Graph-theoretical analyses have been previously used to investigate changes in the functional connectome in patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, these analyses generally assume static organizational principles, thereby neglecting a fundamental reconfiguration of functional connections in the face of neurodegeneration.
