Magnetic Characteristics of a Nanocomposite Based on Bismuth Ferrites

Abstract

The magnetization process in the nanocomposite BiFeO3–Bi2Fe4O9 obtained by the glycine–nitrate combustion, was studied. The magnetic characteristics of the individual compounds BiFeO3 and Bi2Fe4O9 and of the composite were found to be substantially different. The new properties of the synthesized substance are ascribed to the exchange interaction on the interface between the phases.
