A Seismostratigraphic Model of the Aldan–Maya Sedimentary Basin of the Southeastern Siberian Platform

Abstract

Using the generalized data of the seismic exploration studies carried out in the Aldan-Maya sedimentary basin, the choice of the seismostratigraphic model has been validated and the transversal and longitudinal sections have been constructed that allow understanding the features of the structure of the sedimentary cover and refining the basin boundaries. Based on the seismic sections and the geological map at a scale of 1 : 2 500 000, a scheme is constructed showing the structures formed in the Riphean. These constructions aim at more purposeful planning of oil-and-gas exploration, as well as estimating the thickness and the area of the parent strata. The results of conducted studies can be used to refine the structure of the southeastern Siberian Platform.
