1 INTRODUCTION

Monomorphic epitheliotropic intestinal T-cell lymphoma (MEITL) is a primary intestinal T-cell lymphoma proposed as a new disease entity in the revised fourth World Health Organization classification. Recent reports showed that MEITL is characterized by a poor prognosis and a high frequency of local relapse and extra-intestinal involvement, including the central nervous system (CNS) (Kubota & Kusaba, 2018; Yi et al., 2019); however, data from flow cytometric analysis of MEITL are scarce. A case of chemorefractory MEITL with CNS relapse is presented. The patient received an autologous transplant followed by an allogeneic transplant. During the clinical course, imaging modalities including positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT) were not useful for assessing treatment response, because the mass lesions disappeared after chemotherapy and transplantation; however, the therapeutic effect was evaluated by detecting residual lymphoma cells using flow cytometry (FCM).
