In article number 2004782, Boris I. Yakobson and co‐workers demonstrate binding of reactive gas atoms (H or F) to the exterior graphene layer, to switch its atoms from sp2 to sp3 hybridization, a diamond state. The created dangling bonds connect to the next layer, and such “chemical domino effect” sweeps through to the opposite surface, forming a film with all coveted traits of diamond.

MISIS,L。Mamrak,O。Zemlyankina。
