Sensing studies and applications based on metal halide perovskite materials: Current advances and future perspectives

The unprecedented success of metal halide perovskites (MHPs) in photovoltaics and optoelectronics has caused a “perovskite fever”, which also accelerates the development of MHPs in sensing fields. However, an overview of MHPs in sensing applications is still absent. This review summarizes the sensing applications of MHPs covering photoluminescence, photoelectrochemistry, electrochemiluminescence, and chemiresistance based sensing. Finally, remaining challenges and perspectives are discussed to promote the future development of MHPs related sensing applications.
