A Ni(II)-Containing Complex: Treatment Activity on Chronic Congestive Heart Failure via Reducing Inflammatory Response in Cardiomyocytes

Reaction of Ni(NO3)2 with KSCN and 1,3,5-tris(triazol-1-ylmethyl)-2,4,6-trimethylbenzene (TTTMB) leads to the formation of a new 3D Ni(II) coordination polymer {[Ni3(TTTMB)4(SCN)6]·3.5H2O}n (1). Furthermore, the treatment activity of the compound on the inflammatory response during chronic congestive heart failure (CHF) was detected and the mechanism was explored. Firstly, the content of the inflammatory cytokines, such as Interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) released by cardiomyocytes was measured, and then the relative expression level of the NF-κB signal transduction was detected with real time RT-PCR. According to the data of molecular docking and post software evaluation, the functional groups of ligands may bind to NF-κB, thus providing a regulatory mechanism for ligands.
