This focus issue of IEEE Microwave Magazine contains columns on topics being covered during IEEE Radio & Wireless Week 2021 (RWW 2021) and five overview feature articles dedicated to themes that represent the scope and purpose of the different subconferences within RWW. The five feature articles have been prepared by highly renowned authors in their research fields and address several timely technical topics, such as digital predistortion (DPD) in power amplifiers (PAs); integrated digital power amplifiers (DPAs) and transmitters; reflectionless filtering devices; emerging inkjet and 3D printing fabrication techniques for sensing, communication, and empowering tasks in modern Internet of Things (IoT) modules; and advanced receiver architectures with multiband, multifunction, and multimode operational capabilities.
