Abstract

Nuclear modification factors of φ mesons produced in Cu + Au and U + U collisions at cms energies of \(\sqrt {{{s}_{{NN}}}} \) = 200 and 192 GeV, respectively, are studied using data from the PHENIX experiment. The nuclear modification factors of φ mesons produced in U + U and Cu + Au collisions are compared to results obtained in Au + Au and Cu + Cu systems, and to those of the π0, η, KS, and ω mesons produced in the same U + U and Cu + Au collisions.
