Abstract—

A receiving coil was developed for a specialized magnetic resonance imaging system based on a permanent magnet with a magnetic field induction of 0.4 T for imaging human joints. The mathematical simulation was performed for the spatial distribution of the magnetic field in the working area of the coil and its optimal configuration was determined. Taking the simulation into account, a prototype of the coil was manufactured and its characteristics were measured. Using this coil, images of a hand were obtained on a prototype of the magnetic resonance imaging system.
