Abstract
CuInS2 nanoparticles coated with ZnS are synthesized. The luminescence and absorption spectra of nanoparticles are measured and the dependences of the luminescence spectra on temperature, In/Cu ratio, and coating of particles are determined. It is shown that the properties of nanoparticles change within some time after synthesis. Ripened CuInS2/ZnS nanoparticles luminesce in the range of 600–850 nm. Coating of nanoparticles with a shell considerably increases the luminescence intensity. The obtained nanoparticles can be used as temperature sensors for deep implantation into biological tissues.
