The mechanical behaviour of auxetic systems having similar topologies and geometric features but different ligament features are investigated by Farrugia, Gatt, Grima‐Cornish and Grima in article number 1900507. The results show that anti‐tetrachiral systems having ligaments of non‐uniform thickness are able to retain their Poisson’s ratios when compared to their regular equivalents. However, the Young’s moduli are found to be dependent on the shape of the ligament thus providing a novel route for fine tuning the mechanical properties of these auxetic systems.
