The article objective is to make analyzes and evaluations of changes of cities in Poland, basing on selected characteristics of sustainable development within: waste management, water and sewage management, air quality and protection, green infrastructure and nature protection. The study included 65 cities in Poland, trying to calculate summative ecologisation index (SEI) on the base of 25 variables. It was stated that between 2004 and 2016 value of summative ecologisation index in cities of Poland grew on average of 6 %. Improvement of ecologisation level was reported in 94 % of studied cities, what was conditioned by implementing environmentally friendly solutions in urban areas of Poland.
