Don′t leave me this way! Iridium(III) phenanthroline anticancer complexes with different leaving groups (Z) could lead to lysosomal damage, catalysing the change of NADH/NAD+, decreasing the mitochondrial membrane potential (ΔΨm), increasing the level of reactive oxygen species (ROS), and eventually leading to apoptosis.
