Abstract The 239Pu(n,γ) cross section has been measured from 10 eV to 1.3 MeV as part of an experimental campaign using the Detector for Advanced Neutron Capture Experiments (DANCE). The work represents a significant advance in experimental technique, with improved systematic uncertainties in key regions in the keV to MeV regime. In general the results of prior work are confirmed with improved uncertainties, particularly at the highest incident neutron energies.
