Abstracts

Expeditionary studies in the last decade yielded new data on the sedimentary layer structure in northeastern Barents shelf. Based on the constructed spatial model of deep temperatures and heat flow distribution, depths of the catagenetic transformation of hydrocarbons in the sedimentary cover of the northeastern Barents shelf are determined, as well spatial and quantitative correlation of the geothermic field with oil and gas localization is carried out. The calculated paleogeothermic models show the temperature distribution corresponding to the hydrocarbon maturation time.
