The Cover Feature shows how brookite in TiO2 mixed phases has a positive effect on the photocatalytic degradation of the emerging contaminant N‐phenylurea under solar light. When different sol‐gel methods were used to produce mesoporous TiO2 with different phase composition, a template‐free green synthesis at acidic pH allowed obtaining high brookite content TiO2, with fair photocatalytic activity under either UV or simulated solar light (1 Sun). The activity of a low surface area (ca. 30 m2 g‐1) sample obtained by such procedure showed that heterojunctions between closely interconnected mixed phases, rather than surface area, improve TiO2 photocatalytic activity, likely due to the stabilization of photogenerated e/h+ pairs. More information can be found in the Full Paper by Francesca S.
