Characterization of long-term behavior of stochastic NP ecological model under regime switching

This paper focuses on stochastic nutrient-phytoplankton (NP) ecological model under regime switching and complements the findings in [26]. A characterization of the asymptotic behavior of the system under consideration is provided. It is shown that the long-term properties of the NP ecological model can be classified by using a real-valued parameter λ, which can be obtained by solving a system of linear equations. If λ < 0, the phytoplankton will die out. If λ > 0, the system has an invariant probability measure and the transition probability of the solution process converges to that of the invariant measure. The rate of convergence is also obtained. Numerical examples are also given to illustrate our new findings.
