Abstract This discussion gives counsels on the paper “Eulerian models of the rotating flexible wheelset for high frequency railway dynamics", published in Journal of Sound and Vibration 449 (2019) 300-314. Specifically, it raises concerns about Eq. (55) and the predicted natural frequencies of the rotating wheelset. In the end of this discussion, the nonrotating natural frequency, rotating natural frequency and resonance frequency of a wheelset are differentiated.
