Experimental Advancement of the Filled Wood Shafts from an Inspiration of Bone

Considering the enduring mechanical behavior of lattice structure and compact part of the bone, an analogy between the samples made of easily find beech wood and the metacarpal bones of the lambs are compared to differentiate the mechanical behaviors moreover to facilitate the beech patterns in various appropriate places via experiments. During the experimental process, five different diameters of the beechwood shafts at the same lengths were tested under three-point bending conditions. Bores inside the beech samples are representing the marrow aperture while the application of the polystyrene foam inside the beech samples is describing the volume of marrow in a bone. The proposed study is presenting the investigation of the filled beech shafts via 3 point bending tests with the biomimetic inspiration of the bone structure to develop passive protection bars for different applications. The experimental results of the filled beech samples are examined to understand the crack and the propagation types comparing with the metacarpal bone experiment responses. The proposed investigation approach for the wood specimens subjected to the 3 point bending conditions is finally discussed, and the advantages are characterized under the determination of protection bars.
