Abstract
We communicate the results of experimental studies of the effects that different concentrations of maghemite (iron oxide γ-Fe2O3) superparamagnetic nanoparticles (SPNPs) have on the growth patterns of algal and yeast cultures. The SPNPs are prepared by laser ablation, an electrophysical technique. In a series of experiments, we establish that different SPNP concentrations (defined relative to the maximum allowable concentration for the total free iron) can have both stimulating and toxic effects on chlorella and yeast cultures.中文翻译:
