Abstract

This paper studies the effect of preliminary magnetohydrodynamic activation of a trilonate electrolyte for the deposition of Co–Bi alloys on some of its physicochemical characteristics (surface tension, wetting, and electrical conductivity) and the quality of the coatings obtained. At the same time, an increase in the deposition rate of the Co–Bi alloy and an increase in the range of working current densities are noted, which is important for practical electroplating. Using the method of scanning and transmission electron microscopy, the structure of the obtained alloys was established deposited under various electrolysis conditions. During magnetoelectrolysis, the content of the electropositive component in the alloy increases, the structure is crushed, the surface relief is smoothed, and the quality of the coatings improves.
