Abstract

The kinetics of terpolymerization of CO2 with propylene oxide and hexene oxide in the presence of a binary catalytic system salenCoDNP/PPNCl was studied for the first time. The reaction rate was determined by measuring the CO2 uptake with time during terpolymerization. The dependences of the reaction rate and terpolymer composition on the mole fractions of epoxides in the feed were presented. The relationship between the rate constants of the insertion of various epoxides in the copolymers was determined. The glass transition temperatures of aliphatic polycarbonates depend on their composition and varied from 26.3 to –9.8°С.
